''George Bailey hit his first IPL fifty''

Kings XI Punjab skipper George Bailey hit his first IPL fifty to help his team register their first win of IPL 8, but conceded that the team still needs to work on a lot of areas.

After reducing Mumbai Indians to 59 for 6 in defence of 178, KXIP leaked runs in the slog overs with Harbhajan Singh (64 off 24 balls) and Jagadeesha Suchith (34* off 21 balls) going berserk, scoring 100 runs in 37 balls to reduce the margin of defeat.

"At one moment, it was looking that we will win by a big margin, but it all changed. It's that kind of format, things change quickly. Some brilliant clean striking, but a little disappointed as I was really happy with the bowling tonight at the start. But, we gave away too many runs to Bhajji (Harbhajan) in the end.

We bowled really well in the first game, here again we bowled really well but gave away a few towards the end. So, we need to work on a lot of areas as well," said Bailey.

KXIP eventually won the contest by 18 runs with Bailey scoring 61 that fetched him the Man-of-the-Match award. After coming in to bat at 88 for 3, Bailey first combined with David Miller for a 46-run stand, before hitting a few lusty blows to take his team's total past the 150-run mark.

"It's nice to get a few (runs). Made a little error last game keeping David (Miller) and I for later, but it's nice to get some runs today. Every team would know that it is a long race and that you have to be consistent," said the skipper
