''BCL ODI tournament begins, 5th April 2015.''

BCB tournament committee chairman and former national team skipper Akram Khan presided over the press meet, and gladly appreciated the efforts of franchises to invest an extra amount that ultimately materialised the ODI tournament. It is, in fact the first time such an ODI tournament is being organised where the zonal teams would clash for the title. Bangladesh Cricket League ofcourse is the premier longer version domestic tournament of the country, but the franchise representatives were elated to be part of initiating an ODI tournament as well.

Each captain spoke about their respective team compositions and chances in the tournament, hinting that it would be very competitive since the best Bangladesh cricketers will all be taking part in it.

The WInner of the tournament which will end with the final on 11th April at SBNCS, Mirpur, Dhaka will get a price-money of taka 15 Lacs; the Runner-up will receive taka 7 lacs. The match-fees for the players had also been unveiled by Akram Khan: taka 50 thousand per match for Grade-A (national team) players, and taka 30 thouasnd for the Grade-B (non-national team) players.

The man of the match will receive taka 15 thousand, and the Man of the tournament will receive 1 Lac as price-money, Akram Khan declared.

Later the captains posed for photographs, and then jointly unveiled the BCL 2014/15 ODI tournament logo infront of the media.

The tournament's first day on 5 April would feature all four teams in action: Prime Bank South Zone will face Islami Bank East Zone at Mirpur, while Fatullah will host the match between BCB North Zone and Walton Central Zone.
